Jan Buus is a Danish photographer based in Tokyo, Japan. He is primarily known for his portrait, advertising, and fashion photography.He has worked for clients, such as, Dentsu, Uniqlo, POLA, JT roots, Cut magazine, rockin'on magazine,Forbes Japan,GQ Japan, Esquire Japan, Elle Japon, Vogue Japan, Pen, Tugboat, The Danish Film Institute, Zentropa, and The Kennedy Center (US).


Jan was born and raised in Denmark. Before moving to Japan, he primarily worked in Denmark shooting portraits for the Danish film industry . His pictures of Danish film directors and actors have appeared in magazines, such as, Sight and Sound (UK), Time magazine (US), Ekkofilm (DK), and FILM (DK).

In Japan, he has held the exhibition FILM PORTRAITS at Laune galerie at Omotesando, Tokyo. His pictures are strongly influenced by the Scandinavian cold light and clear colors. His greatest inspiration is people, whose individual beauty he sees and captures in a clear cinematic style.
In 2017,'magniflex' visual received JR East Japan Transit Advertising Awards.

デンマーク生まれ。
フリーランスのフォトグラファーとして独立後、特にポートレートなどの作品がデンマーク国内で広く認められ、個展 [Film People] [Porcelin Dolls] などを開催し好評を博す。その後、イギリス、アメリカなど海外でも幅広く活躍。

東京・原宿にて個展 [Film Portraits] を開催（デンマーク大使館支援）。これを機に活動の拠点を東京へと移し、セレブリティのポートレートやランドスケープ、ビューティーやファッション撮影を中心とした活動を展開している。
フラグスポート「magniflex(マニフレックス)」ビジュアルが「交通広告グランプリ 2017」の駅ポスター部門で優秀作品賞を受賞
